Guadeloupe: End of red alert, the island under orange vigilance for rain and storms

IN BRIEF
|
Guadeloupe recently experienced severe bad weather, leading to the triggering of a maximum alert due to significant floods. This Thursday, tropical wave No. 44 caused significant precipitation across the archipelago, with accumulations sometimes exceeding the 150mm in just a few hours. Although the intensity of the rains begins to decrease, the vigilance remains in place. In recent hours, the prefecture has announced a passage of the alert red has orange, indicating that the risk of river overflows and landslides remains present. A lull is however expected in the coming hours, offering respite to the population.
